Accelitech launches CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery site in Louisiana

Chicago, IL, April 23, 2007 — Accelitech LLC announced today that its clinical partner, Lafayette General Medical Center has opened a CyberKnife center located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The CyberKnife Center of Louisiana will deploy the first and only CyberKnife G4 model in the region. This latest version of the CyberKnife from Accuray employs technology that allows for enhanced imaging and tumor tracking capability and higher treatment doses. The venture, created by Accelitech, is a partnership between physicians, Accelitech and a local hospital, Lafayette General Medical Center.
"Accelitech provided the knowledge, structure, financing, and focus to effectively execute on our vision to bring the CyberKnife to central Louisiana", says Dr. Alan Appley, a neurosurgeon and co-director of the program.
The CyberKnife Center Louisiana is located on the campus of Lafayette General Medical Center. CyberKnife Center Louisiana treats patients with neurological conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia, arteriovenous malformation, acoustic neuromas and cancer anywhere in the body.
